The crescent house
Residential Project
Nestled among traditional red-brick homes on a charming street overlooking the cricket field. Despite its storied past, the house was in need of revitalisation, the new owner embraced the challenge wholeheartedly.
Enter D&S, tasked with breathing new life into the property. Infusing a touch of modernity while paying homage to the house’s heritage bones.
A key inspiration for the redesign came from the backyard, where the property shares a fence line with an old red-brick church. The rich, earthy tones of the bricks became the foundation for the creative process. Embracing this palette, the client worked with D&S to blend the timeless appeal of red brick with a warm, contemporary interior aesthetic.
The result? A harmonious interplay of Australian timber, splashes of mulberry and pink hues, and the natural beauty of truly wild stone. Accents of aged brass and copper added a layer of understated luxury, completing the transformation of The Crescent House into a home that seamlessly bridges past and present.
